Bringing joyful noise to the Pacific Northwest, the explosive ensemble channels soul, salsa, boogaloo and the kitchen sink into a charismatic and freewheeling dance party wherever they go. Our conversation touches on the formation of Reposado’s big band lineup, diasporic influences ranging from African funk to vallenato, East vs West Coast culture shocks, precarious living situations, and music as a life saving spiritual practice. This is an expansive conversation with JP, giving us a detailed account of the path that led him to Seattle, to music and to Reposado.
